KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 24 (Bernama) — AIA AFG Takaful Bhd.(AATB)’s medical card, A-Medik, recently won “The Most Outstanding Takaful Product” award at the 9th Kuala Lumpur Islamic Finance Forum (KLIFF 2012). The award was presented during an award presentation ceremony organized by KLIFF 2012 on 16th October 2012 at The InterContinental Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. The KLIFF Award is mainly to honour and acknowledge the significant efforts and contributions by individuals and institutions in developing the Islamic Finance Industry.

Noted for its Family Plan benefit, AATB’s A-Medik standalone Takaful medical card allows the customers to extend medical and hospitalization benefits to their spouse and a maximum of four children in one comprehensive plan. With A-Medik, customers can cover their medical and hospitalization charges when they seek treatment at AATB’s panel hospitals and help to alleviate any concern on the rising costs of hospitalization.

Commenting on the win, AATB’s Chief Executive Officer En. Wan Azman Wan Mamat said: “This recognition is justly deserved as A-Medik is indeed the best Takaful medical card in the market. And to have it endorsed by the industry as the most outstanding Takaful product is just an affirmation to the quality and innovation of AATB’s products and services.”

“We take pride in being a family-oriented Takaful operator so all our Takaful products are designed to fulfil various protection needs of our customers and their loved ones. Aside from the Family Plan benefit, we have also included other features in A-Medik that will help our customers to get the most out of the plan, such as the “No Lifetime Limit” benefit and coverage up to age 99 years old.” He added.

Other unique selling points of A-Medik are the exemption from the normal co-Takaful cost (up to certain limit) which normally applies to other medical Takaful plans in the market. Furthermore, customers are eligible for “Daily Cash Allowance” benefit when they seek treatment at the local Government and overseas hospitals according to the terms and conditions stated in their Takaful Certificate.

Aside from the award-winning standalone medical card plan, A-Medik is also being offered as a rider that can be attached to AATB’s basic plans, A-Mas and A-Prima. The A-Medik rider is targeted for customers who want to enhance their basic protection and investment plan with medical coverage.

Beside A-Medik, AATB offers a range of other Family Takaful products – A-Mas, an investment-linked Takaful plan with in-built protection and investment benefits with the option of attaching medical card rider; A-Prima, which focuses specifically on protection benefits; A-Excel, a comprehensive Takaful endowment plan that offers protection, savings and cash benefits to certificate holders over a period of 20 years, and A-EduSmart, an education plan that offers savings and investment benefits, as well as Takaful coverage to the person covered.
